A Represented Paddington

The BID provides a voice for local businesses, providing a Business Forum, unlocking new areas of funding and acts as an advocate and lobbyist on issues of priority for local businesses.

Since 2005 the BID has represented businesses on the congestion charge zone extension, the Crossrail Bill, parking, planning, community safety, licensing, small business rate relief, the Business Rate Supplement, noise and vibration from the Underground and the proposed ‘bed tax’ on hotels.

In 2009/10 alone 37 individual local businesses were helped by the BID team. The BID lobbied for and secured a Parliamentary Undertaking to establish the dedicated Crossrail Liaison Panel, the only business-focused panel of its kind in London.
